THE STARTING POINT

A mission based Canadian financial services organization is enhancing their Not-For-Profit foundation strategy and platform

The company has been committed to education for over 50 years – their vision is to help all Canadians plan to make post-secondary education possible

The foundation is funded and dedicated to providing solutions that enable every Canadian to have the financial resources to pursue post-secondary education. Building confident, happy, healthy children and removing barriers to attending PSE is central to this effort.

We are currently at the go-to market stage of this journey and are actively seeking like-minded partners to join us in making generational change in Canada

We believe that if we get more confident, happy, healthy kids to and through Post - Secondary, we get more strong adults which means stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger Canada.

We are talking about a private sector initiative which delivers generational change in Canada

OUR MISSION

Post Secondary Education

- Creating Generational Change in Canada -

HEALTH

DIVERSITY and SUCCESS
PARTNER PROFILE
We are looking to build long term Private Sector and NGO partnerships with organizations who share our passion in one or more of the following areas:
Supporting Kids and Families
Supporting Education
Being Proudly Canadian
Building the Right Sustainable Workforce
THE PROBLEM
There are too many kids who do not get to Post-Secondary, through Post-Secondary, or are not enrolled in the right program that suits their skill-set or has best chance to lead to long-term success.   â€‹
  • We estimate that over 130,000 Grade 12 students annually in Canada will not graduate high school or attend PSE the following year

  • In this generation of kids enrolled in JK – Grade 12, approximately 1.8MM kids will not attend PSE

  • This is a great deal of lost potential for people and for Canada

PARTNERSHIP
WHAT DOES PARTNERSHIP LOOK LIKE?
What we are looking for

  • Active, vested partners with an interest in educating Canadians to achieve generational change

  • Exposure and awareness through your channels

  • Funding for scholarships in relevant sectors or for groups you support

  • Financial support to expand mission

What’s in it for partners?

  • Amplification of your CSR philosophy

  • Opportunity to engage Rize and partner audience – leadership role in your sector

  • Pipeline of diverse talent for training and scholarships

  • Access to Rize channels and content production

THE SOLUTION
Addressing through parents and kids the systemic and inter-related “MIFF” factors that prevent Canadians from participating in PSE:
  • Motivation,
  • Information,
  • Financing, and
  • Fear.

Parental Influence is a Key Factor to Pursuing PSE

Parent’s educational attainment and that of their children is closely linked: 73% of students with a higher education degree have parents with one.  Other factors include parental expectations, role modelling and the ability to navigate the education system.

Financial Concerns are a Significant Barrier

70% of high school graduates cite financial reasons as the main factor in not pursuing post-secondary education – 1 in 4 cite fear of debt as their key deterrent

There is not enough diversity in significant career growth areas

Women have accounted for 30% of employment growth in STEM since 2010, but still make up less than 25% of employment in those occupations

Creating and distributing content to build confident, happy, healthy kids

We are creating and managing solutions to help get more Canadians to and through post-secondary education by:
Forging corporate and channel partnerships
Creating a scholarship platform
Advocating for generational change
HOW WE GO ABOUT IT
Developing unique programs for parents and children to help them prepare for PSE
